For centuries, Robin Hood has lived in our hearts, and despite all these years he has not lost his appeal. John von Düffel’s new version of the story picks up where the legend has its origins: Young Robin of Locksley is accused of poaching, and the Sheriff’s henchmen are after him. But the law is unjust, as were so many things back in those days. The whole country groans under the Sheriff’s despotism, as he takes advantage of the king’s absence to exploit his people. Robin valiantly stands up to injustice and he finds companions – Friar Tuck, obviously, and Little John. Together, they form their band. Their motto is: “We take from the rich and give to the poor!” Despite the dangers he finds himself in from thereon, Robin participates in an archery contest, where he has his first encounter with his main adversary: the Sheriff of Nottingham. But he also meets lovely Marian and knows now, what he is fighting for.
