Dwarfs are running a nursing home in the forest. It's a home for wild children, children who are disruptive, who "don't function", who sometimes, when they get mad, take everything apart. "This is where people are created. We start early". Outside, the wolf is lurking, therefore it is better to stay inside, and work, sing, sleep and tell each other stories, because "talking helps form community. Community forms it's own legends and vice versa.» But the world that the dwarfs are talking about seems too confining to the children, they bump their heads and arms, and the wolf doesn't want to stay outside, it penetrates their limbs and faces. Desperately they attempt to re-invent the old stories, the horrid fables about the wolf, about the deadly spindle, the hunter who cuts open bellies, and the prince who surprises the princess in her sleep. Over and over again they try to discover the world behind the lies and keep failing. The stories continue to disintegrate, and the one thing that would save them, the truth, is nowhere to be found....
